I want to volunteer
Our volunteers are the heart and soul of Coastguard.
Without our 2,300+ volunteers around the country, New Zealand would have no maritime search and rescue service. Our volunteers provide over 315,000 hours of their time every year to make sure you can enjoy our magnificent waterways, secure in the knowledge that should anything go wrong, Coastguard will be there to help.
